It's hard to rate this, with nothing to really compare it to. I guess... they're shiny? $15 for 2 knives isn't really that cheap, unless they're amazing. Probably have to pass on this one.

What the dealio? Even w00t's renowned product description is lacking with this item. I mean, another cheapo do-it-yourself medical device. While I trust myself to check my BP significantly more than my ear drums, this is still strange.

The price is pretty good, but I would recommend getting a more permanent BP monitor, unless you really need a mobile one to go around with you. I mean, that time I was careening up/down Top Thrill Dragster, I guess it would've been cool to know that my heart was about to explode.

A clock radio that can rip to your mp3 player? Now, I know the first thing I think of when I wake up is not ripping my wakeup tune to a disk. I just want the damn thing off. Overall this thing has some pretty neat features, but it seems like a bit of a novelty. A built-in subwoofer? The whole thing is only 12" high, it must be a 1.5" woofer. The product only has two (pretty useless) reviews on Amazon, but they are positive, so if you're in the market for a new alarm clock or perhaps a fancy radio in the kitchen, it seems like this would get the job done well. Just get that tomato sauce off your fingers before changing the song.

Now, I admit I've been harsh on the last few woots, but I really see no upside to this one. Let's take a quick review:
  • Refurb
  • More expensive than other stores
  • Pretty bad Amazon reviews
  • Company renowned for terrible customer service (I'm a "proud" Portege M400 owner, haven't had to call CS yet, knock on wood)
All in all, it seems like a great item to wait for the woot-off, if you want a multi-drive burner. A neat gizmo to be sure, but save some cash on this one.

Hm, another refurb HDTV. This woot is a gamble, and not necessarily a great price at that. Froogle has several new listings under $300, while it's not available on Amazon or Shopzilla, probably not a good sign there. The pricetag of $240 is tempting, but the prices of LCD HDTV's are dropping steadily, in a year or so 32" monitors will be this price new. I'd pass on this woot.

An oddity, to be sure. A pretty much useless Woot despite excellent savings. As a somewhat serious poker player, I can certainly say I prefer real cards to an electronic system such as this, but depending on the computer AI, this might be a fun way to practice when there are no games to be had in your area. As a better gift, a set of poker chips are our complimentary item of the day!
